Baldur s Gate: Dark Alliance offers a decidedly console-styled take on Black Isle s AD&D-based Baldur s Gate series. Though the game features the same basic isometric third-person perspective as its acclaimed predecessors on the PC, its gameplay is designed to offer a steady flow of hack and slash dungeon-crawling action. While a good story is important to any worthwhile role-playing adventure, the player may become more immediately involved with the particulars of the single Player Character in BG: Dark Alliance, as the solitary plotline removes some of the (otherwise welcome) distractions of group interaction and party management.
